Je dis que tu l’as dit à Didi ce que j’ai dit jeudi.

Tonguetwister Tuesday!

Je dis que tu l’as dit à Didi ce que j’ai dit jeudi.

zhuh dee kuh tew lah dee ah dee-DEE skuh zhay dee zhuh-dee. Click below to hear this pronounced.

I say that you told Didi what I said on Thursday.

Is this really about tattletales?

Not really. It’s just about homonyms. Again!

Dire means both to say and to tell, which explains the two different translations of the same verb in the English.

Je dis (I say) sounds just like jeudi (Thursday)n which explains why no other day of the week is as funny as this one.

And who is Didi? That’s the nickname for the French name Didier. If you know him, you’d better try to remember what you said to him, or you may be in trouble!
