Suis-je bien chez ce cher Serge ?

Tonguetwister Tuesday!

Suis-je bien chez ce cher Serge ?

Sweezh byaa shace shair sairzh? Click below to hear this tonguetwister pronounced.

Am I comfortable at the home of that dear Serge?

Yet another tonguetwister on the /s/-/sh/-/zh/ theme. That part is obvious, though I won’t say easy!

A few notes:

Suis-je has a single syllable, even though the non-inverted form, je suis, has two.

Je suis bien means I am comfortable, or in more contemporary speech, I’m good.

You remember chez. It means at the home of or at the office of or various similar phrases.

Okay then…take it away!
