Même maman m’a mis ma main dans mon manchon.

Tonguetwister Tuesday, one day late!

Même maman m’a mis ma main dans mon manchon.

mem maa-mah mah mee mah maa dah maw mah-SHAW. Click below to hear this pronounced.

Even Mama put my hand into my muff.

Apart from the fact that no one uses muffs anymore, and the fact that muffs are designed for two hands, not just one, and the fact that one is usually capable of putting one’s own hand into a muff without help, even if one is a very small child, there’s not a lot to say about this.

Just watch your nasal vowels, and make sure they sound different from each other. You have three different nasal vowels: /aa/, /ah/, and /aw/. And three different oral vowels: /eh/, /ah/, and /ee/.

If you’re warming your mouth up for choir practice, this tonguetwister is just the thing!
