Lucky Luke: The man who draws faster than his shadow.

And here he is! Lucky Luke in person, so to speak. Thanks to my friend-who-prefers-to-stay-anonymous for reminding me about this French hero and lending me her album!

Drawn by Morris and written by Goscinny (the same writer who writes Astérix et Obélix), Lucky Luke is a delightful French take on the Old West (of the US). He is intrepid, unflappable, keeps a cigarette dangling from his lower lip, and never misses his shot. He is also much smarter than any of his opponents. The caption to Lucky Luke’s picture here tells it all: he is l’homme qui tire plus vite que son ombre.
