Who Am I, Anyway?

SpkFrnch is the brainchild of Ruth Cassel Hoffman. I fell in love with French when I was about 12 years old. In dog years that’s almost 20 years older than I am now. Anyway, I never looked back: French major in college (what was once called Beaver College, now Arcadia University, and what was once the State University of New York at Albany, now The University at Albany). A.M. and Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures, University of Chicago. Specialist in medieval French literature and the 20th-century New Novel (le Nouveau Roman) in France. Used to teach French. Have run Language Resources Ltd. since 1983. Sometimes dream in French, tweet in French, Facebook in French, speak French in places where no one understands me just because that’s what came first to my tongue.
